Margaret Graham Bio
Margaret is originally from Northern Ireland. Before coming to Canada in 1982, she had just started to flourish in her career as a hair stylist and beauty consultant. When the opportunity to immigrate to Canada with her fiancee Richard came along she knew it was the right move.
Not long after arriving in Canada both Margaret and Richard became Christians and began serving in a local church in the Calgary area in all kinds of capacities. Soon it became clear that Margaret’s gift for singing and leading worship became evident. In 1990 they became the lead pastors of Harvest CFC (Christian Fellowship Church) in NW Calgary.
Since the churches inception, over 25 years ago, Margaret has been the director of all the Worship tracks at Harvest CFC. While her function has become much more specialized in recent years, her vision has always remained the same, “to find, raise up, train and release tomorrows worship leaders, today!”. That vision has definitely become a reality with many musicians and singers being trained, equipped and released into their God given destiny as Worshipers, Worship Team Builders and Worship Leaders. Her gift for mentoring, teaching and developing Worship Teams and Worshipers has taken her to many places locally in Alberta and trans-locally to places in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and BC in Canada. Indiana, Idaho, North Carolina, and California in the U.S. and England and Northern Ireland in the UK.
Margaret’s heart for the next generation is at the heart of her strategy to mix teenage and young adult musicians and singers into the regular worship team rotations at Harvest. This has proven really effective in helping them learn how to build healthy team relationships, understand worship team dynamics, as well as provide a safe environment where they can be mentored by more mature, skillful musicians, vocalists and leaders.
As Margaret’s skill set has grown and developed over the years, she has had growing opportunities beyond the scope of Harvest. In recent years she has hosted a number of large worship conferences called Rivers of Worship, which were well received from all parts of Christian community in Calgary. She has led worship at numerous city wide initiatives like the original March for Jesus, and the Global Day of Prayer that had saw 12,000 worshipers gather together at the Saddledome arena. Today, along with her continuing responsibilities at Harvest, Margaret head’s up the worship component of the Calgary City Wide Prayer Initiative and in 2013 she formed Grace Revolution, a band made up of Margaret and other worship leaders that she has mentored at Harvest CFC, they.
On a personal level Margaret is a gifted songwriter and written and recorded a number of songs that were released on 2 albums; “Out of This World” and ” The Time Has Come”. Margaret has been happily married to Richard for 33 years. They enjoy having 2 married children and 3 grandchildren close by in Calgary.
